Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: BUTTE Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 10020005 Forest or Resource Area: DEERLODGE Owner: N Impact: Report: Templeman Two 65-75 foot tunnels, one of which is open, explore a N42-60W 57-70NE trending fault zone in Meagher Formation (Sahinen, 1950). A chip sample across this 7 foot wide galena and sphalerite-bearing zone ran a trace of gold, .5 oz/ton silver, no copper, 4.4% lead, and 6.7% zinc. The limestone has been brecciated and recrystallized, and there are no metallic minerals on the dumps. High percentage of calcite. Measured the adit trend (S55W); open and dry. |
