Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: CABINET Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 17010213 Forest or Resource Area: KOOTENAI Owner: N Impact: Report: This mine was screened out because of the inaccurate location listed in MBMG Bulletin 34 (one half mile northeast of the Squaw Peak lookout station). There was no production listed for the Ulley and in 1960 only a few feet of the inclined shaft was accessible. Crowley (1963) reported that the prospect was worked in the 1930's by Dixie Queen Mining Company who drove two crosscut adits and the inclined shaft. Mineralization at the Ulley included quartz, magnetite, chalcopyrite, hematite, limonite and malachite (Crowley, 1963). |
