Agency: BLM Region District: BUTTE Ranger District: Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 17010201 Forest or Resource Area: GARNET Owner: B Impact: U Report: Sec 32 - unnamed adits PO008013 DSL-AMRB included a study of these adits in their March 1994 report done by Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. They are located north of the Down Hour patented placer claim (Loen, 1990). Located on Carpenter Creek, they are now almost totally collapsed with a small discharge still issuing from the eastern most adit. Both were driven into the Blackfoot City stock (Kqm) but near the Pennsylvanian-Permian Quadrant and Phosphoria contact to the east and the Mississippian Madison contact to the south (Loen, 1990). Pioneer Technical Services (1994, p. 5-248) stated that the two adits were open & hazardous, but they are only open 5'or so where they are timbered and lagged. |
