Report: Ophir Mine PO002858 This mine is located on one of 5 patented claims. Pardee and Schrader, 1933 states that this mine consisted of several shafts , one of which was 190 feet deep. The only dates of operation found were prior to 1911, 1918 and 1938. It was located along a 15-foot wide shear zone in quartzite (Loen, 1990). McClernan, 1976 also reiterates Pardee and Schrader. It was screened out because of its location on private land with no federal land downstream. It was not located where shown on the topo map according to the USBM Mils database.
