Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: GARDINER Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 10070001 Forest or Resource Area: GALLATIN Owner: N Impact: Report: This short adit was described in Wedow et al. (1975) as exploring quartz zones in a "fissile and contorted schist". It was visited in August 2000 and was still open for approximately its entire length of 33 ft. It was dry with no environmental problems. It was found by dropping down the east side of Oregon Mountain and then following the Kreiger Ditch to the north. The waste dump is just uphill from the ditch. The Tiny Jack claim was then found to the north of the Kreiger adit--also along the ditch. |
