Report: The Alladin mine was visited by MBMG geologists on 07/11/01. It was accessed by foot from Forest Route 1185. The adit and prospect are located downhill from a large meadow and are just inside the forested portion. The prospect was 10' by 10' by 5' deep. The lower sluffed portion of the adit trends S.75 W. and the upper part trends S.60 W. The upper portion of the adit followed a massive white quartz vein (with pyrite and chalcopyrite) that dips 60 SW. The upper part of the adit was open for only 5 feet but had an overhang. The 12-inch wide vein was faulted and offset near the portal. A small discharge issued from the lower portal but disappeared into the ground in less than 5 feet; the flow was less than 1 gpm and so was not enough volume to sample. Wallace and Hosterman (1956) described the intrusive as a diorite and the veins as occupying shears in or adjacent to the diorite.
