Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: MISSOULA Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 17010205 Forest or Resource Area: LOLO Owner: P Impact: U Report: The Chickaman Mine is located on private land and is surrounded by Plum Creek Timber Company land and so was not visited as a part of this inventory. It's location is on the Blue Mountain 7.5-min. quadrangle in sec. 35, T12N, R21W. It originally consisted of three adits in argillite with oxidized ore consisting of quartz, limonite, malachite, and "copper pitch" (Sahinen, 1957). No production records were found. |
