Report: Cato (MI005483) Workings in a dry gulch a short distance south of the Mammoth Mine may be the Cato. Workings consist of trenches, pits, and small waste rock dumps. Total surface disturbance is probably less than 1 acre. Host rock is granodiorite; white, coarsely-crystalline quartz appears to be the gangue for this vein deposit. The only apparent sign of mineralization is minor limonite staining. This site lies on a patented claim and is dry; there are no apparent environmental problems associated with this site.
