Report: Clemantha (MI005479) The Clemantha claim, located a short distance northwest of the Coloma ghost town, is mostly reclaimed (recontoured and seeded). Total surface area is approximately 2 acres. This site was apparently developed by an incline shaft 360' deep (Sahinen, 1957); all underground workings have been obscurred by time and reclamation work. Host rock is granodiorite (near the limestone contact); the gangue in this deposit is quartz. The only sign of mineralization on this claim is scattered rocks exhibiting limonite staining. This mine produced high-grade, oxidized silver and gold ore. This patented site is located on a dry hillside and poses no apparent environmental threats.
