Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: JEFFERSON Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 10020005 Forest or Resource Area: DEERLODGE Owner: N Impact: Report: The dominant mine in the area is the B and H Mine, located upstream of the tailings area on patented ground. The tailings cover a wide area and are cut by the stream. Although no erosion is presently taking place, spring run-off and storm events wash tailings directly into the stream. Tailings are mixing with native soils throughout the area. Samples will be collected as per the MBMG-USFS Quality Assurance Plan and the MBMG Standard Field Operating Procedures. JBHS10M: Located on the main stream below the USFS - B and H property boundary. The sample will be analyzed for Dissolved Metals and Total Recoverable Metals. Discharge will be measured by means of a flowmeter. JBHS20L: Located in the main stream below the tailings. The sample will be analyzed for Dissolved Metals and Total Recoverable Metals. Discharge will be measured by means of a flowmeter. |
