Report: Dullea (MA006875) The Dullea workings consist of several caved adits and associated dumps on a steep south-facing hillside. Total surface disturbance is approximately 2 acres. Host rock is Precambrian gneiss and schist of the Cherry Creek Series (Winchell, 1914). Gangue consisted of brecciated quartz, which strikes N20E and dips 60S in adit 1. Ore consisted of galena and argentiferous galena (Johns, 1961). Dump rocks exhibit slight to moderate limonite staining; coarsely crystalline white quartz is also found on the dumps. The assay results from two samples are listed in Johns 1961 publication; gold values were 0.06 to 0.08 ounces per ton and silver values were 0.10 to 1.0 ounces per ton. This claim was patented in 1907 and leased until the mid-1920's; it has been inactive since the 1920's (Johns, 1961). Production figures were not found in the literature; based on the size of dumps, production was small to moderate.
