Report: Lottie (MA006839) The Lottie Mine workings consist of 3 open adits, 1 small dump, 1 large dump, and building ruins. The workings cover approximately 2 acres and are located at the head of the north arm of Goodrich Gulch. Host rock is Precambrian Gneiss and possibly Cambrian Flathead Quartzite. Johns identified this site as a quartz vein deposit (striking from east to S50E); ore minerals included native gold, silver, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and galena (Johns, 1961). Limonite staining and pyrite was noted on the dumps in 1994. The ore vein is associated with an andesite dike in one adit and a quartz monzonite dike in another. Northeast and northwest trending faults displace the vein (Johns, 1961). The assay results of multiple samples are listed in the literature (Johns, 1961). Gold values range from 0.02 ounces to .45 ounces per ton; silver values range from 0.10 ounces to 24 ounces per ton (Johns, 1961). No information regarding operational history or production was found in the literature. This dry site is located on USFS land. A geologic plan map of one level of the Lottie workings can be found in Johns 1961 publication.
