Report: Diamond Hitch (MA006016) The Diamond Hitch prospect consists of at least 3 caved adits and multiple dumps. There are 2 collapsed mine shacks and a collapsed ore chute as well. Surface disturbance is approximately 2 acres. Host rock is Precambrian gneiss (granite gneiss and lesser dark-colored gneiss). Gangue mineralogy appears to be light gray to white quartz; minerals observed on the dumps included pyrite, hematite, and limonite. An AIM sample assayed 3310 ppm lead, 4770 ppm zinc, 252 ppm copper, 5 ppm silver, 0.0685 ounces gold, and 122 ppm arsenic. This site is located on patented ground approximately 50 yards from Nugget Creek; no waste rock is in contact with the creek and the site is dry.
