Report: Hansen (1971) and other references list this as in T.6 S., R. 4 W., but logically it is in R. 3 W. (MBMG files state it is 1/4 mile SW of Nevada City.) Joe Highsmith was the operator in 1970. It is also listed as Highsmith & Slovak in 1967, with 5 claims up the valley worked by dragline and dozer, and fine gold processed by a gravity table. Gold occurs in a weathered schist on the sides of the valley (MBMG files).
