Report: The St. Paul mine was recently worked (in the 1990s) but no work had been done in 1998. The group originally consisted of seven claims (Gibson, 1948) and the group stretches from Snowshoe Creek over the ridge to Cherry Creek. None of the claims were patented. The Snowshoe side had been the most recently worked. There were three open, or partially open, adits and a mucker and other mining equipment was still present in 1998. Wooden doors secured the adits. The adit on the Cherry Creek side was completely caved and there was evidence of a small seasonal discharge. The discharge was too small to sample when visited in 1998. The mine is hosted by Ravalli sandstones, quartzites, and argillites (Gibson, 1948) and the workings explore the Snowshoe Fault. Ore minerals galena, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite in a quartz gangue (Johns, 1970).
