Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: THREE RIVERS Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: Forest or Resource Area: KOOTENAI Owner: N Impact: Report: The Oro Highland silver mine was described as being on the north side of Ruby Creek and was staked in 1935. One 600 foot adit and another upper adit was described by Johns (1970). The mine explored a quartz-galena-anglesite-chalcopyrite-pyrite vein in a metadiorite dike. The mine was also listed in Young et al (1962) but with an incorrect location. It was not visited because of the inaccurate location and lack of time. |
