Report: Golden Girl #4 -- Several short caved adits and shafts follow a N70W trending vein which may be continuous with the Jim Jr vein one mile west. Vein consists of a breccia of altered green granitic clasts in a vuggy quartz matrix, and is 2.5 feet wide. However, it assayed (BJGGH-1) only 0.036 oz/ton gold, 0.14 oz/ton silver, 0.028% copper, 0.15% lead, 0.086% zinc, and 0.36% arsenic. Last claim notice (1969-1986) is gold & silver mine by Howard Kruse. Vein dips 54 degrees N. vein turns uphill to S. 70 degrees E. Lowest working is an adit, then go uphill (east) to second adit (right above), then go to start of shaft (?), go to adit collar. The lowest working is a prospect adjacent to the road. There was a small puddle (1 ft by 3 ft by 2 in.) of oily looking water in this lowest working. There is no discharge here. Rest of the workings very dry.
