Report: Roby and others (1960) listed Basin Creek placers as the major producer in 1870 and several thousand dollars of gold were produced each year until 1890. A small amount of gold was produced each year from 1890 to 1932. Starting in 1906, a small floating dredge was used for a year or two. From 1933 to 1938, 845 fine ounces of gold were taken from Basin Creek. In 1940, a drag-line dredge was used for one season. Tin was also recovered from 1932 to 1941.
