Report: GALENA GULCH: AT THIS LARGE OPERATION, SEVERAL OPEN ADITS INVESTIGATE A NORTH-TRENDING QUARTZ BRECCIA ORE ZONE WITH 1% PYRITE SURROUNDED BY IRON-STAINED GRANITIC ROCKS. A SAMPLE OF THE MINERALIZED MATERIAL CONTAINED .01 OZ/TON GOLD, .74 OZ/TON SILVER, .017% COPPER, .012% LEAD, AND .024% ZINC. A COMPOSITE SAMPLE WAS TAKEN OF THE STREAMSIDE DUMP: IT CONTAINED ONLY .005 OZ/TON GOLD, .35 OZ/TON SILVER, .011% COPPER, .009% LEAD, AND .010% ZINC. THREE PROSPECTS/SHAFT COLLAR/AIR RAISES, SECOND SITE IS 30 FEET DOWN THE HILL. THE THIRD IS PROBABLY THE ADIT, THE OTHER TWO RAISES. THE VEIN MATERIAL IS DARK GRAY TO WHITE QUARTZ. ADIT, 40' WEST OF LAST ADIT (#9). DRY, CAVED. SAMPLE # BJGG-2 TAKEN, COMPOSITE OF THE DUMP. CABIN, AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF GROUNDS. THERE ARE SEVERAL PROSPECTS (?) OR ADITS DUE SOUTH OF THE CABIN. THERE WAS WATER ON THE DUMP. THERE HAS BEEN EXTENSIVE LEVELING WORK AND PLACER WORK DONE IN THE DONE IN THE CREEK. THE RAIL AND TIMBER IN THE ADIT AND ON THE DUMP IS STILL INTACT.
