This was apparently a small mine which produced a small tonnage of high grade (>1 oz/ton Au) gold ore (Roby, 1960; Klepper and others, 1957). The ore is located at a due N 65E limestone-shale contact within the Three Forks formation. It was mined through a 100 foot inclined shaft. Ore consisted of silicified limestone with galena and iron oxides. No environmental problems are present |
