Report: Monarch The Monarch is located on the nose of the Dunkleburg Anticline where the axial trace changes direction. An underground map (Popoff, 1953) shows approximately 400 feet of workings. An irregular replacement zone in Kootanai limestone from several inches to 5 feet thick and containing pyrite, sphalerite, and galena was mined. The adit is now caved and the dump is overgrown with vegetation.
