Agency: BLM Region District: BUTTE Ranger District: Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 17010201 Forest or Resource Area: GARNET Owner: B Impact: Report: Unnamed Lead-Silver Deposit (GR003039) An unnamed site consisting of a caved adit, a moderately sized cut, and a small dump is located in the SE 1/4 of Section 20, Township 12 North, Range 14 West, Granite County, Montana. Total surface disturbance is less than 1 acre. Host rock is Cambrian Hasmark formation; lithology is limy dolomite with boxwork and vugs filled with calcite or quartz. There is moderate to heavy limonite and hematite staining on these rocks in part. The United States Bureau of Mines database indicated that this was a lead-silver deposit. No information on mining history or production data was found in the literature. This BLM site is located on a dry hillside and has no water component. |
