Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: PHILIPSBURG Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 17010202 Forest or Resource Area: DEERLODGE Owner: N Impact: Report: Bluebird One open adit and two caved adits crosscut to a due east 50S vein 2 feet wide and comprised of quartz, pyrite, galena, sphalerite, copper carbonate, and iron oxide within granodiorite of the Royal stock (Emmons and Calkins, 1913). A select sample carried .234 oz/ton Au, 5.4 oz/ton Ag, .46% Cu, 1.85% Pb, and 2.69% Zn. Some development work was being done on the property as recently as 1980 (Lawson, 1981). Total length of workings is probably about 1500 feet. The lower adit discharges a considerable amount of water across the dump of mostly unaltered granodiorite. |
