Report: Reference from Lyden p. 30., also Woodward, 1995. Inaccurate location; taken from Woodward, L.A., 1995. " Placer gold was discovered along Alpine Gulch in the Judith Mountains in 1879-1880. This discovery was soon followed by mining of gold placers on Warm Spring Creek near Maiden, in the upper part of Ruby Gulch, Ford Creek, and its tributary Maiden Creek, and the headwaters of Armells Creek."
