Report: The following information is from Krohn and Weist (1977), production from 1864 to 1953 was 580,000 ounces gold from an exceedingly rich ore deposit in Pleistocene stream terrace gravels located on bench and creek placers. It is listed on both the Diamond City and Boulder Baldy 7.5-min. quadrangles. Lyden (1948) reported a minimum of $2,500,000 and a maximum of $7,500,000 from Confederate Gulch proper. Also included are Montana Bar, Diamond Bar and terraces, Boulder Bars, Cement Gulch, and Montana Gulch.
