Report: Lyden (1948) reported this is a tributary of the Missouri River, with the confluence about 5 miles below where Confederate Gulch joins the Missouri. Discovered in 1865 and mined for 20 years after (Pardee). A terrace on the north side of the creek was mined for more than a mile, and gravel deposits were from 50 to 200 feet wide and about a 50,000 sq yard area was disturbed. Later work in the area was by dryland dredge with about 40 feet of barren overburden and the pay streak was approximately 2 ft above the bedrock. Reported production in 1921 and possibly 1948. No mention of mercury was made. Ownership unknown because of unconfirmed location.
