The average P2O5 content is 7½% in the Retort Member of the Permian Phosphoria Formation (Swanson, 1970). Grades range from 26.3% in the basal 3', 14.3% in the next 16' and the top 32' are low grade shales (Swanson, 1970). The topography consists of high dry ridges, vegetated with sparse trees, and is associated with a series of synclines and anticlines (Popoff and Service, 1965, Cressman and Swanson, 1964, and Ruppel, O'Neill and Lopez, 1993). |
