Report: Ingersol Group BE000545 This is a repeat of the Ingersol Mine, probably including the Colonel Ingersol, Bob Ingersol, Contact and Silver Rose patented claims located in NEĽ sec 4, T8S, R11W. It is incorrectly identified in the MBMG database. Ingersol Mine BE000545 This is composed of several adits and shafts all secured by the DSL-AMRB in NEĽ section 4, T8S, R11W. Mississippian Madison limestone is in thrust contact with Tertiary andesite (Shenon, 1931 and Geach, 1972), with ore as replacement veins in the limestone (Leon and Pearson, 1989). A select sample by Geach, 1972 assayed 7.75% Pb, 5.60% Zn, 0.30% Cu, 8.7 opt Ag and 0.02 opt Au. Ore and gangue minerals include brown, iron stained quartz, pyrite, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite (Geach, 1972) in addition to quartz/calcite, cerussite, cerargyrite, bromyrite (?) and malachite (Shenon, 1931). The area was discovered in the 1860's, with most work done between 1918 and 1941 (specifically 1934-41, MBMG-MPF, room 213) yielding 511 tons ore: 20,300 lbs Pb, 2,000 lbs Zn, 3,185 lbs Cu, 10,922 ounces Ag, and 13 ounces Au (Geach, 1972). The property consists of several adits caved at the portals and, upslope, two vertical shafts. Geach, 1972 and Shenon, 1931 refer to a 200 foot deep winze and a 150 foot tunnel connecting the winze to the surface, with a total of 1500 feet of workings.
