Report: Spanish (BE000354) The Spanish Mine is located a short distance north of the Legal Tender and probably developed on the same vein deposit. Workings consist of a caved shaft about 100' above an adit. Small dumps are found near the shaft and adit. Surface disturbance is less than 1 acre. Host rock is Devonian Jefferson Dolomite; the beds strike N30E and dip 48S. A vertical fault striking N45W is present and probably offsets the Legal Tender ore vein (Geach, 1972). This property has no record of production; workings and dumps indicate production was minor. This is a dry site located on a patented claim; the claim is surrounded by USFS land.
