Report: Dingman (1975) lists this site but with little or no additional information. He says "gold was recovered from the stream gravels in Rattlesnake, French and Watson creeks." Lyden (1948) summary: small scale placer mining in the 1870's. Worked intermittently. Total production unknown. Source of gold from the lode mines of Argenta. No reference to mercury being used. Near where the patented Kelly placer is located; may be all private.
