Report: Coolidge (BE000114) The Coolidge Mine workings consist of 3 inclined shafts and several prospect pits. Host rock is Devonian Jefferson Formation (basal beds near the contact with underlying Cambrian Flathead quartzite). The beds in this area strike northeast and dip 27SE to 44SE (Geach, 1972). A northeast-striking sill or dike of andesite is associated with the deposit. The ore occurred on the footwall side of the andesite dike (Geach, 1972). Ore deposits at this site were located in the 1870's. Ore was shipped from this property in 1898, 1935, 1936, 1940, 1948, 1960, 1961, and 1964 (Geach, 1972). Total recorded production was 279 tons of ore yielding 17,713 pounds of lead, 882 pounds zinc, 170 pounds copper, 3114 ounces silver, and 23 ounces gold (Geach, 1972). This patented claim is located on a dry ridge.
