Agency: BLM Region District: BUTTE Ranger District: Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 10020001 Forest or Resource Area: DILLON Owner: P Impact: U Report: Divide 1 and 2 Claims (BE000065) The Divide 1 and 2 claims are located on the top of a dry mountain near the head of Kissick Canyon. The workings consist of dozer trenches and accompanying waste rock piles. Host rock appears to be granite gneiss; amphibolite and a highly siliceous gneiss(?) are also present. The only apparent sign of mineralization is limonite staining; the MILS database lists the commodity mined here as Thorium. A white quartz vein trending NW-SE cuts through the SW side of the workings and may be related to the mineralization. The primary disturbance at this location appears to be on private land; there appears to be no adverse impact on adjacent BLM land. |
