Report: A tributary to the Ruby Creek drainage that had placers, both the Little and Big Moosehorn creeks flow from south to north to join the Ruby. The Moose Horn Mine lies to the north of Ruby Gulch in sec. 20, T3S R17W. It is hosted by a medium-grained quartzite with specular hematite and a quartz-filled fissure vein. Most of the ore minerals from the Moose Horn Mine are copper; probably not the source of the gold in any placer in the area. Placer producers on Nugget Creek and Pioneer Creek merge with Ruby Creek to the west, and then flow east toward the Big Hole. This area has a lot of glacial material .
