Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: SHERIDAN Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 10020005 Forest or Resource Area: BEAVERHEAD Owner: M Impact: Report: Unnamed Sites at Head of North Goodrich Gulch (MA003143/MA003148) Numerous dry workings are found southeast of the Lottie Mine at the head of the north fork of Goodrich Gulch. These workings include caved adits, pits, trenches, and dumps. Cumulative surface disturbance is approximately 12 acres. Host rock is Precambrian Pony Gneiss (primarily granite gneiss) and Cambrian Flathead Quartzite. Most of these deposits appear to have mineralized quartz veins; the primary evidence of mineralization on the dumps is iron oxide staining. Production from these sites has probably been small. All sites visited were on USFS land; none had water components. |
