Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: DEERLODGE Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: Forest or Resource Area: DEERLODGE Owner: P Impact: L Report: Potosi Two adits, one 20 feet long and one about 200 feet long and caved, apparently explore a 4 inch wide, N10W quartz vein in unaltered granodiorite of the Royal Stock. South Gold Creek flows around two small mine dumps of this unaltered material. Emmons and Calkins (1913) noted granite almost completely replaced by sericite, calcite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite, but no evidence of this is present today. |
