Agency: NF Region District: R1 Ranger District: WISE RIVER Forest Service Tract: Watershed Code: 10020004 Forest or Resource Area: BEAVERHEAD Owner: N Impact: Report: This mine is located up a small drainage southeast on Canyon Creek, in high and dry country. It consists of one adit but possibly with short stopes (?) above or with other adits above or possibly the main adit has daylighted on the hill above the mine. In any case, there are two open holes above the mine road which were deemed hazardous. The site is remote and accessible by 4-wheel drive or by trail. The black and blue, shaley Permian Phosphoria Formation has been dumped below the mine down the steep slope. There is no water component at the site. |
